Playground 3D
The Playground 3D module in Gesund.ai is designed for interactive exploration of 3D medical images. It supports model-driven segmentation, manual labeling, and measurement workflows using a responsive multi-panel viewer.
1. Interface Overview
The viewer is divided into three main panels:
- Left Panel (Segmentation / Prediction): Shows segment list or prediction options depending on the active tab.
- Central Viewer: Displays multi-view slices (axial, sagittal, coronal, or custom grid layouts).
- Right Panel (Studies / Upload): Lists available studies, series, segmentations, and prediction tasks.
2. Upload and Dataset Selection
You can select a study from the Studies tab or switch to Upload to drag-and-drop your own DICOM files.
- Use the Filter option to narrow down by body region or metadata.
- Once selected, the series is loaded into the viewer with associated segmentations.
3. Segmentation Tab
Within the Segmentation tab:
- You can view, create, and manage labels. If no labels exist, a “No Labels Yet” message will appear.
- Click the “+” icon to create a new label.
- Each label displays name, volume, and color. You can also hide/show individual labels.
The toolbar on the left provides tools like:
- Manual draw
- Eraser
- 3D brush
- Interpolation
- Volume filling
4. Prediction Tab
Switching to the Prediction tab allows you to run AI-based segmentation:
- Choose a Model Type and a specific model (e.g., TotalSegmentator MRI).
- Click Predict to open the configuration window, where you can:
- Set an alias
- Select organs to segment
- Adjust quality level
- Submit the task and track progress under the Tasks section (e.g.,
Pending,Running,Completed).
Predictions are rendered automatically in the viewer once complete.
5. Viewer Tools
Above the central viewer, you’ll find a set of core tools:
- Zoom, Pan, and Window Level for navigating and adjusting view.
- Orientation toggle for switching between anatomical planes.
- Mask visibility and volume toggles for segment control.
- Measurement Tools (Length, Angle, etc.) can be used to annotate and quantify structures.
6. Study & Series Management
On the right panel, each study includes:
- Series thumbnails with slice counts
- Associated segmentations and predictions
- Ability to toggle segment overlays or load different studies without leaving the viewer
You can collapse and expand segments and predictions to stay organized.
Note: Playground 3D is ideal for both clinical research and development workflows, offering precision tools and model integration in one synchronized interface.
